The goal isn't just passing a test. It's building a second identity in English — the references, the humour, the way people actually talk.

Culture first

Vocabulary is the easy part. We describe places, talk about work, talk about culture, talk about the videos we're all watching on Instagram — anything that's actually part of life in Britain.

We show you why

We don't just correct — we show you why. Most mistakes trace back to a pattern from Portuguese, and once you see it and work on repetition, it stops.

Who's Raíza Máxx

The person behind the school

I've taught English for 6 years, with a focus on British culture — pragmatics, humour, the indirect way things get said. My students are mostly women building a life abroad or working in international settings.

I'm a linguistically obsessed, intellectually curious, culturally hybrid teacher-writer who likes turning complicated ideas into conversations people can actually use — and who is still figuring out what shape I want all of that to take. I love animals, hate noise and flaky people.

Questions people ask

How do the classes work?

A weekly 60-minute live class with up to 4 people. Every lesson is built around a topic, article or piece of culture, depending on the level. Some common topics across groups are:

How do I find out my level?

Fill in the waitlist form first — it has a few questions designed to get a sense of your level. I'll follow up on WhatsApp if I need to ask anything else.

How many people are in a group?

Up to 4 for now. Groups are deliberately small so everyone speaks every class. This may change to up to 3 from 2027

What if I miss a class?

Recordings go up within 48 hours. Add the make-up policy

Do you teach grammar?

It depends on the group. Leviosa works on accuracy; Tired Queens and Mind the Gap give you the basics. The Debaters assumes you already have the grammar and focuses on vocabulary and argument.

How does payment work?

Through Stripe — automatic, once a month. Add prices, discounts and cancellation terms

What if I don't do the tasks?

Honestly? This probably isn't the right course for you. The method depends on participation and work outside class — if that's consistently not happening, you won't get the results you're paying for.
